Reservation-less Conference Creation
Reservationless Conferencing
The Reservationless Conferencing feature allows a Moderator to initiate a conference at any time using the same set of moderator and guest ID's each time. This is different than a regular Meet-Me Conference where a new set of moderator and guest IDs are generated each time a new conference is scheduled. Reservationless Conferencing gives each business user their own personal set of conference IDs that can be provided to clients and printed on business cards or sales materials. Reservationless conferences never expire and must be deleted by the service provider.
Reservationless Conference Creation
Users cannot create their own Reservationless conferences through the Web Portal. The service provider must create the Reservationless Conference and then provide the conference information to the user. Users that are assigned a Class of Service that gives them Moderator priviledges can be enabled to have Reservationless Conferencing. The service provider can configure up to 5 reservationless conferences per user. The service provider then provides the Moderator user with their conference bridge phone number, plus their pre-set moderator and guest ID numbers. Their moderator and guest IDs can be reused for future conferences. The conference moderator can view and manage their reservationless conferences via Web Portal and Meet-Me Floor Control.
Using a Reservationless Conference
Reservationless conferences are very similar to normal Meet-Me conferences and can be managed through the Web Portal.
- Reservationless Conferences are listed first in Web Portal under the Conferencing > Meet-Me tab. These conferences will display an infinity symbol in the Length column.
- Email and iCalendar notifications of Reservationless Conferences are supported through the Web Portal.
- Meet-Me Floor Control application (see “Meet-Me Conference Control” on page 78) also allows a moderator to manage a reservationless conference. However, the following features of the Meet-Me Floor Control application are slightly different for Reservationless Conference:
- Add Ports icon – not shown
- Edit Subject icon – not shown
- Ending in HH:MM:SS – not shown
- Extend Length Icon – not shown
- Length – not shown
- Start Time – date and time reflects the date and time the moderator activated this instance of the Reservationless Conference.
- Ports – shows the moderator’s Maximum Meet-Me Conference value at the time this instance of the Reservationless Meet-Me Conference was activated.
